Sierra Leone- Article

God through his divine plan, took home the primary leaders in the country of Sierra Leone in 2010.This was a very difficult time for this country. The loved ones left behind and the general church is in great mourning. The Article titled “Those left behind” written by Bishop Sherman Allen in the September Issue of the White Wing, the official magazine of the COGOP International, explained this in more details.

In October the Administrative Committee met in Sierra Leone for a meeting and for the National Convention. They were able to have a memorial Service for the deceased, comforted those left behind and offer some financial assistance to the families. A very big thanks from all of us to those who gave Internationally; especially, the Global Out Reach Dept., The African Admin Committee, The Calgary Alberta Church, The Hamilton Church, members of the West End Church and friends. We will continue to assist in whatever way possible as the resources are available.

Bishop L. Clarke and wife are now the National Overseers of Sierra Leone. January 25th they will be leaving to take up temporary residence there. Their goal is to raise up new leaders, train new leaders, build up and strengthen the group of saints there. Much support and prayers are needed on their behalf and on the behalf of our brothers and sisters in Sierra Leone.

Psalm 127: 1-3. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward”. Presently there are approximately 40 schools and approximately 21 local churches operating under the auspices of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sierra Leone. The schools are from Kindergarten to Secondary. The schools are in ill-repair, lacking supplies and in need of financial help. The churches are in need of walls and roofs. The infrastructure of this country seems to be in urgent need of repair and rebuilding. We are imploring those reading this article to come alongside this ministry in whatever way you can. The immediate needs are as follows:
